Abstract

The issue of scholarly journals has received wide attention from the scientific community, and perhaps no other type of information source has received such attention, and the controversy over what they are, their definition, benefit from and other issues have received wide attention in turn, as they are a major artery And an indispensable channel in the scientific communication system. The best proof of this is the amount of intellectual production published in the world since the middle of the twentieth century on scholarly journals and their issues.

The book that we have in our hands represents a rare case (at least in the field of libraries and information in the Arab world); Despite the departure of its author, our venerable scholar Heshmat Qassem (may God have mercy on him), before its completion and publication, what was accomplished from it, (fortunately) found his way to the light.

And the author of the book, Professor Dr. Heshmat Qassem, is well known, as he is one of the pioneers of information science in the Arab world, and one of the distinguished scientists in this field.
