Prof. Hasnaa Mahgoub :An Egyptian pioneer in the field of libraries and information

Abstract

The female element has a clear role in the field of libraries and information, and Prof. Hasnaa Mahgoub is one of those who contributed diligently and interest in this field.
The aim of this study is to introduce her educational, scientific and functional career and her various activities, as well as to monitor and analyze the features and characteristics of her intellectual output based on the bibliometric approach. It was possible to list 97 works from 1986 to 2022. She published most of her intellectual output in Egypt, which is represented in two master's and doctoral dissertations, (9) books, (2) parts of books, (48) studies published in scientific periodicals, and (36) studies presented in conferences. A reading of the intellectual production reveals that the focus of her primary concern is publishing and what is related to it, and she also paid attention to writing about libraries of different types and information networks. In addition to this, her interest in informetrics sector and its applications, as well as her role in highlighting the activity of the Egyptian Association for Libraries, Information and Archives, and its treatment of scientific communication and the world of open sources.
