Enterprise resource planning (ERP) in educational institutions and libraries: a literature review

Abstract

The study examines the concept of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and how it can be applied in educational institutions and libraries. The study provides a comprehensive scientific review of the literature in the field of ERP and its role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of operations in these types of institutions. This study aims to track and survey the Arabic and foreign intellectual production on the subject of ERP in educational institutions and libraries from 2019 to 2023, in order to generate quantitative and objective indicators of the bibliographic characteristics of the published intellectual production. The study follows a descriptive survey methodology. The study concluded several results, including the dominance of foreign intellectual production on the subject over its Arabic counterpart. Additionally, the study identified approximately 106 studies on the topic, with the year 2020 being the most prolific year for related studies, accounting for 39 studies out of the total.
