Dr. Mahmoud Abbas Hamouda is a pioneer in the field of Diplomatics and Aarchives in Egypt and the Arab world, having made significant scientific and professional contributions to this field. This study aims to provide a brief overview of his educational, professional, and scientific career, as well as a survey of his intellectual output and an analysis of his most prominent trends. The study relies on the descriptive approach in addressing the career, while it relies on the bibliographic-bibliometric approach in documenting the intellectual output of Dr. Mahmoud Abbas Hammouda and analyzing its trends. It was possible to list 47 of his intellectual works from 1963 to 2014, consisting of two master's and doctoral theses, 21 books, 21 studies published in Arab journals, and three studies presented at scientific conferences. It was found that Dr. Hamda's writings focused on historical documents in general and Ottoman documents in particular. He also presented various studies on diplomatics and archives, as well as Arabic writing and Islamic books.
